1972' Volvo B59-59 Aabenraa

Copenhagen Airport - Airside. CPH Airport started operating buses on airside in 1986. SIx Neoplan Apron buses bodied by Danish Aabenraa factory was delivered, But they suffered from structural defects in the bodywork and was returned to the factory for a long period of time. The Aabenraa factory supplied 2hand buses regional buses to cover for the defective apron buses, but they were not suitable. CPH then contacted the public bus-company HT in Copenhagen with the purpose of renting some recently withdrawn citybuses. Several Volvo B59 and three Leyland DAB were rented in 1986. At the end of the year, CPH Airport got their Apron buses back, but CPH chose to keep four Volvo B59 in their fleet as spare buses. In 2003 the last Apron buses were withdrawn and the airport chose to only operate standard buses. In 2027 there are plans to purchase new Apron buses after a 23-24 year break.
